Sara Elizabeth Hagerman Affleck, 92, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at America House Assisted Living Center.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Front Royal United Methodist Church, 1 W. Main Street, Front Royal, with the Rev. Alan Combs officiating.

Mrs. Affleck was born August 18, 1924 to the late Frank Hagerman and Maude Rohrer Hagerman and spoke so fondly of her childhood home in Timberville, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her siblings and her husband, John Williams Affleck.

She was a longtime member of Front Royal United Methodist Church and an avid Warren County Wildcat fan.

Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and being a full time wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She never stopped providing them with all the support she could.

She will be greatly missed, but we know she is with those she loved so dearly who went before her.

Survivors include two daughters, Adele Medved (Mel) of Front Royal and Susan McSwain (Jerry) of Pompano Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Beth Medved Waller of Front Royal; grandson, John Medved (Courtney) of Strasburg, Virginia; two great grandchildren, Will and Sara Waller, both of Front Royal; and her adopted daughter, Pat Wimer (Alan) of Front Royal.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Front Royal United Methodist Church, general fund.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA.

An obituary was published in the Northern Virginia Daily on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
