Early Sunday morning, December 12, 1999, our beloved sister, Elda Ruth Haines departed this life for a better place. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at the LDS Stake House, 3200 Cassia St. Boise, Idaho, with Bishop Joseph G. Daines presiding. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise.
Elda was born January 25, 1917 at Central, Idaho. She was the fourth child of Gustof and Elsa Hegstrom. The family moved to the Boise Valley when she was 12 years old.
Her first marriage to Denver Rekus ended in divorce. She married George Haines and they lived in Washington and California. When George died, Elda returned to Boise to live.
Elda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a happy and loving person, a trusted confidant and had a host of friends whom she cherished and adored. She enjoyed composing poems for her friends and family to celebrate every occasion.
She is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Esther Rea, Nampa, ID; Eleanor Wilkinson and Erma Heward, Boise, ID; Einar Hegstrom, Campbell, CA; and Elvin Hegstrom, Nampa, ID.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Earl and Elvin Hegstrom; and two sisters, Elsie Mason and Ellen Rohrbaugh
