STEELE - Lillian Dronen, 97, Steele, died Jan. 19, 2008, at a Steele care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll, with the Revs. Paul Schauer and Jo Pfennig officiating. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.

Lillian Hall was born March 10, 1910, in Sterling, the daughter of Earl and Helga (Schanke) Hall. She was raised and attended school in Sterling. She then attended Valley City State University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. Lillian married Andrew G. Dronen Aug. 27, 1933, in Steele. She was a teacher in both Burleigh and Kidder County for 36 years.

Lillian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Church Circle, Ladies Aid, Homemakers Club, PTA, North Dakora Education Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Farmers Union and numerous other organizations.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Dronen, Dallas, Ore., and June (Dennis) Rippley, Missoula, Mont.; her son, Gene (Arlene) Dronen, McKenzie; her daughter-in-law, Dianne Dronen, Steele; 13 grandchildren, Mike, Kim and Tim "Charlie" Dronen, Dyla, Karla and Kelli Kappel, Lynn and Troy Rippley, Lorie Bond, Torie Schilke, Tom and Terry Moravec and Tammy Leland; and her sisters-in-law, Verna Hall, Margaret Botnen and Mary Malsam.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew; her daughter, Marilyn Moravec-Neidhart; her son, Dwight Dronen; her brothers, Earl Hall Jr., Wesley Hall and Harold Hall; and her sisters, May Becknall, Adelaide Moen and Beatrice Miller. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
