BENNINGTON -- Frances Helen Bell, 85, a former resident of Bennington and more recently of Naples, Fla. died June 3, 2003 at Naples Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Bennington Dec. 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (McGuire) Hall. She received her education in the Bennington schools.
In earlier years Mrs. Bell was employed at the E Z Mill in Bennington and was later was employed as a waitress at various local restaurants.
In 1954 she married Dana J. Bell who died June 1, 2003. For many years, Mr. and Mrs. Bell managed the New Englander restaurant in Bennington. After leaving Bennington, Mr. and Mrs. Bell worked as managers of restaurants and motels in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area.
Mrs. Bell is survived by a son, James S. Kirk of Naples, Fla.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and cousins.
Graveside committal services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington at 9 a.m.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Monday from 4 to 6 at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington. .
