Mrs. Amman, 94, of Stewartville died May 3, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital. She was born July 25, 1915 in Sioux Falls, SD to John Hall and Bertina (Larson) Hall. On May 20, 1936 she married Harold L. Amman at St. Joachim's church in Plainview. The couple farmed in the Plainview area until moving to Rochester in 1954. Mr. Amman passed away July 27, 1992. During her working years Marian was a cytologist at the Mayo Clinic. She enjoyed playing cards; spending time with her family and traveling. Marian currently resided with her niece Carol and Ken Kruger in Stewartville.
She is survived by her son John R. (Jeanne) Amman of St. Augustine, FL; one granddaughter Diane (Robert) Pickard of Jacksonville, Florida and great grandchildren Micah Amman, Bethany Amman, Amber McKinnon and Daniel Pickard. She is also survived by a multiple number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, one grandson, and one daughter-in-law.
Friends may call from 4pm to 7pm Friday at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A prayer service will be held at 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
