Marquitta Arntson, 75, of Pelican Rapids, died on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society in Pelican Rapids.

Marquitta Louise Hall was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of Jesse and Emma Hall. Marquitta attended school and graduated from high school in Evansville.

On Sept. 10, 1953, Marquitta married Kenneth Arntson in Anniston, Ala. They moved to Pelican Rapids where they raised their family.

Marquitta worked at Pelican Valley Nursing Home and Good Samaritan Society for many years.

Kenneth preceded her in death on July 10, 1997.

Marquitta was a member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church and was active in ladies aid. She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines, working in her garden and feeding birds.

Marquitta is survived by her children, Brad (Sandy) Arntson, Buffalo, Richard (Kathy) Arntson, Pelican Rapids, Becki (Steve) Ouren Erhard, and Nancy (Dennis) Fechtner, Perham; eight grandchildren, Megan Arntson, Casey Arntson, Jessica (Matt) Feir, Jenny (Travis) Doll, Kenny (Jen) Fechtner, Derrick (Amanda) Fechtner, Devin Arntson, and Kassy Arntson; six great-grandchildren, Lukas, Joshua, Kasen, Braden, Avery, and Marquitta; sisters, Frances Clark, Evansville, Ind., and Helen Wilkoski, Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Emma; husband, Kenneth; sisters, Esther Muller, Bobbie Camplin, and Rose Russell; and brothers, Walter Weyer and Julius Weyer.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids
