Kathy Evenson, 35, Towner, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 5, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Kathy Sue Hall was born Oct. 21, 1977, a daughter of Oliver and Sue (Cannon) Hall in Minot. She was raised in the Carpio area, until her father passed away and the family moved to Minot. In 1994, they moved to Granville, where she completed her education. Kathy was in a severe car accident in 1995.
Kathy met James "Jim" Evenson in Granville in 1996 through her brother whom was working for Jim at the time. Jim had two children, Scott and Beverly, at the time they met. Kathy and Jim courted until 2000 when they were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 2000, at First Lutheran Church in Granville. Kathy and James farmed and ranched together near Granville. They have two children, John and Jessica Evenson.
Kathy was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. We've all been blessed with her love, caring, free spirit and sense of humor.
Kathy enjoyed her time on the farm with her family, gardening with the kids, working with the cattle, going to the field haying, and talking with friends and neighbors.
Kathy is survived by: husband, Jim, Towner; son, John, 11, daughter, Jessica, 9, both at home; stepson, Scott (Kayla) Evenson, of Leonard, and stepdaughter, Beverly (Steve) Kister, of Zap; mother, Sue Hall, Ruthville; brother, Knute Hall, Ruthville; sisters, Karoline (Jason) Vaagen, Surrey, Clara (Jeff) Thompson, Glenburn, Crysta-Lin Hall, Minot; sister-in-law, Judy Erickson; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father; brother, Clarence Hall; aunts, Gertrude (TJ) Weber and Clara Hall; nephew, Julian Lehman; and her father- and mother-in-law, Charles and Harriet Evenson.
Funeral service: Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Granville.
Burial: Granville Community Cemetery, Granville.
