Alice G. Hall, age 86, of Edinburg, ND, entered into the arms of her Lord on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River, ND.

Alice G. Eagleson was born October 6, 1922 on the family farm by Union, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Olive C. (Bendelow) Eagleson. She attended school at the Montrose District #4 School near Union. In 1940, she moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas to help her grandfather after her grandmother died.

She was united in marriage to Chester Christensen on Jan. 21 1941 in Hot Springs by her grandfather, the late Rev. John Bendelow. To this union a daughter was born. After a couple of years, they moved back to Milton, ND and worked for Steve Goodman. When Chester's father became ill, the couple moved back and took over the family farm by Milton. In 1951, the couple moved to Edinburg where Chester worked for Windingland Brothers. Alice had various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a waitress, co-managed the drive-inn, cared for children for several families, worked in potatoes, did housekeeping and was an Avon representative for 13 years. Chester died Aug. 24, 1976.

Alice was united in marriage to Norman Hall on November 20, 1982 in Edinburg. The couple has made their home here since. The couple wintered in the southwest for several years. Although she enjoyed this time traveling, and making new friends, she was always glad to return to her family and friends in North Dakota. After suffering an accident she entered the nursing home in September of 2007.

Alice loved to visit with family and friends and she will be dearly missed by those who love her. Alice was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA and the Edinburg American Legion Auxiliary. She was active in the church bible study groups.

She is survived by her husband, Norman, Edinburg, ND; daughter, Rosalie Roy, Devils Lake, ND; three grandchildren: Roxane (Robert) Landon, Tracy (Brenda) Roy and Shawn (Brook) Roy, seven great-grandchildren: Kristina Roy, Nicholas Roy, Shannon Landon, Preston Landon, Dylan Roy, Kolton Roy and Torin Roy, sisters: Gladys McCauley, Crookston, MN and Donna Flack, Woodburn, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester, son-in-law, Glenn Roy, brother, Glen Eagleson and sister, Joyce Fischer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.
