MOOSUP - Martha S. Grondahl, 95, of Moosup, died Friday at Regency Heights of Danielson.

She was born in Viipuri Finland on November 28, 1915, daughter of the late August and Aino Marie (Puranen) Halme. She was the wife of the late Niilo Grondahl who died in 1978. Mrs. Grondahl was an active member of Kaleva Womens Organization Tupa #54. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed her 3 P.M. afternoon coffee with pulla for her guests.

She is survived by her son Eric Grondahl and wife Brenda of Norway, ME: daughter Julia Duffney and husband Robert of Moosup; grandchildren, Michael Grondahl and wife Lisa, Marc Grondahl, Liisa Marcheski and husband Harold; Great Grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Justin, Rylee, Luke and Charles. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Henry Grondahl and wife Betty of Marion, OH. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Omar Halme, Matti Halme, Kaleb Halme, and Hannes Halme.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Central Village. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9-10 A.M. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
