It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Beachboard on Feb. 2, 2012.

Nancy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to parents Frank and Elizabeth Hamilton, as one of eight children. Nancy had been a resident of Ventura County for 58 years where she served her community, it's schools and organizations as a volunteer, office holder and supporter. Nancy was a member and supporter of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Unit 120, the Society of Military Widows, the Oxnard Elks, Hueneme Beautiful, and Friends of the Ray D. Prueter Library. Nancy cherished her many friendships, new and old, and enjoyed activities regularly with them such as Sharon's Exercise Class at Port Hueneme Community Center, red Hatter's, the Sing-A-Long group dancing and worship at the Port Hueneme Seabee Chapel, in addition to her personal devotion to friends and family in need. Nancy was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Beachboard; parents, Frank and Elizabeth Hamilton; sisters, Meta and Olive; and brothers, John and Doug Hamilton. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Sturgiss (David) and Sandy Gritzmacher; grandson, Willie; sisters, Sal, Bessie and Jean; and her nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A Street in Oxnard. Immediately following the service there will be a fellowship at Oxnard Elks on A Street. At a later date Nancy will be interred next to her husband Ed at the Los Angeles Veteran's Memorial Park.

Flowers welcome, or in lieu of flowers, make donations to Hueneme Beautiful or the Friends of the Ray D. Prueter Library.
