Thankful (Hammond) Baley/Bailey wife of Caleb Bailey died 19 January 1806 in her 68th year. She is the daughter of Joseph Hammond and wife Thankful (Damon) Hammond. Her sister Lettis/Lettice (Hammond) Hayden is also buried in this cemetery and Experience Hammond a brother who fought in the American Revolution..

Thankful (of this Memorial page) was first married to Joseph Nash Jr. on 16 December 1755. (Vital Records Of Scituate Massachusetts To 1850, Vol. 2, Page 214). Roland Hammond's book on the Hammonds, Page 77, mentions her first husband Joseph Nash, but has her incorrectly marrying her "second" husband in "1755" instead of her first husband in that year.

She married Caleb Bailey from Scituate her second husband on 23 August 1781. Record states she is a widow.( Vital Records of Scituate Massachusetts to 1850, Vol. 2, Page 14). The marriage record spells the surname as "Bailey" but her gravestone spells it "Baley". So according to findagrave rules I entered her name for her Memorial page with the spelling on her gravestone.

Thankful of this Memorial page is a direct descendent of Francis Cooke and Richard Warren of the Mayflower.
