She was born April 19, 1931 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Rader and Elsie Gandee Hardman.
She was a graduate of Spencer High School, and owner of Bryant Accounting in Ripley for 25 years. Jan enjoyed sewing, quilting, and loved Bible Study. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jim Bryant, a brother Charles “Conn” Hardman, mother-in-law Thelma Hall and step father-in-law Don Hall.
She is survived by her son, Bill Bryant and his wife Diane of Washington, WV; Daughter Susan Bryant Fisher and her husband Charles of Goldtown; brothers John Hardman and George Hardman both of Spencer; grandchildren Isaac Casto and his wife Deidra of Buckhannon and Amy Beth Smith and her husband Jordan of Huttonsville; great grandchildren Sylvia Casto and Whitney and River Smith; a special friend whom was like a son, Keith “Bear” Ware.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Calvary United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 205 Court St., Ripley, WV 25271.
