Deceased Name: BOGGS Betty H. Boggs
BOGGS Betty H. Boggs, passed peacefully on December 11, 2008 at Mount Carmel Hospital surrounded by family. She was born on September 16, 1929 in Gilmer Co., WV, the daughter of Homer and Georgia Hardman of Glenville. She was a loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Tom Boggs, her parents, four brothers, and two sisters, and one son Bruce Boggs of Hilliard, OH. She is survived by a sister, Mildred of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Michelle (Keith) Price of Middleburg Heights, OH, and Gigi Boggs (Shah Hasan) of Hilliard, OH; a son, Tom (Mary) Boggs of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Betty was a graduate of Normantown High School and Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV and studied at the Ohio State University. She taught three generations of third grade students at J.W. Reason Elementary School in Hilliard and retired from the Hilliard School System in 1984. She was an ardent advocate of childhood education and served in many roles in the Ohio Educational Association at local and state levels both before and after her retirement. She enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the local historical society. Friends and family may call at Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., in Glenville, WV beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with graveside services at the Collins Community Cemetery immediately following. A memorial service will be scheduled in Hilliard at a later date an announcement concerning that will be made.
