Annabelle Harlan, 73, of Waggoner died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Illiopolis, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle Rager Rogers Sr. She married Claude William Harlan in 1942 in St. Louis.

Mrs. Harlan retired in 1973 from Illinois Bell Telephone after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Christian Church of Waggoner for the past 41 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, a member of OES chapter in Girard, active in the Meals on Wheels in Waggoner, was an usher at the University of Illinois at Springfield, member of Royal Neighbors of America and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors: husband, Claude W.; a son, Claude W. (wife, Carol) Harlan Jr. of Plainview; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Rogers of Girard; four sisters, Alberta Moore of Dawson, and Doris Grubb, Mary Miloshevich and Margaret Smith, all of Springfield; a half brother, Larry Rogers of Nashville, Tenn.; a half sister, Pam Sartore of Springfield; and nieces and nephews.

Services: Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, the Rev. James D.W. Borop officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery
