Billy was born December 13, 1934, in Gilmore, Texas to Buster Harmon and Hulla Mae Hollins. He later moved to California and made it his home. He met his wife Virginia in 1969. They wed and raised their children in Santa Ana, CA, where they attended New Spirit Baptist Church. Billy worked hard as a self employed carpenter for 30 years, under Carpenter’s Union Local 2361. He and his wife later relocated to Moreno Valley, CA in 2002, and were faithful members of Second Baptist Church in Riverside. Billy lived life to its fullest. He loved his family, sports and most of all, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he could talk about for hours. His passing has certainly created a void in the lives of his family and friends, but we find comfort in knowing that his suffering has come to an end.
He received his wings on the evening of August 22nd, surrounded and supported by his loving family. Billy is survived by his faithful wife of 33 years, Virginia Harmon, six children: Maurita Harmon, Roderick Harmon, Erick Harmon, Adrean Harmon, Darnell Lawrence, and DeShaun Pierson; twelve grandchildren: Darniece, Darleah, Darnell II, Dargé Lawrence, Talana and Daija Harmon, Pochae, DeShawna, William, Eishale, RayShaun Pierson, and Moszique Houston. Billy is also survived by three brothers: CH Chiles, Cleophus Harmon, RC Harmon; two sisters: Alma Neils and Ruby Cole, and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, OD Collier and sister, Betty Anderson.
