Grandma had 3 major interests when I was growing up, tho one was mainly in the past. When younger, she loved to travel. When I would visit during the summer, we would drag out the movie projector & old film reels, load up on snacks, & watch movies of her travels.
She loved to sew & made me many an outfit when I was young. She also absolutely adored melodrama, getting involved daily in the television soap operas & the old 'Queen for a Day' show. If she couldn't find enough drama on TV, she'd begin some drama of her own, within the family. Berating the mail carriers if they were 10 minutes late was also a favorite of hers, but I figure that falls into the drama category.
She married William Albert Richards when she was 20 years old.
They had 6 children:
William Albert ("Al")
Irma Jane ("Jane")Ford
Caryl Ruth Marciniak
James Wert ("Jimmy")
Robert Joseph ("Bob")
Mary Katherine (altho she always went by Mary Catherine)
