Rebecca Haught Bailey passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, from complications of breast cancer. She was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Irene G. Haught.

Becky was born January 9, 1952, and graduated from St. Albans High School, Class of 1969. She graduated from Marshall University in 1973, summa cum laude, with a BBA in Accounting. She worked for several private companies and spent five years working for the Kanawha County Clerk.

She was a past president of the St. Albans Music Appreciation Club, a former Girl Scout leader and a founding member of the Choral Arts Society of St. Albans. She was privileged to appear in five productions of the Charleston Light Opera Guild with her husband, David.

Becky and David first met in the Thomas Memorial Hospital nursery where they both were born within days of each other. They attended junior high, high school and college together. They had their first date Valentine's Day of 1969 and were married June, 1971. They were together when God asked her to come home.

Becky is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; and by their four children, Joe (Jennifer), Tommy, Laura (Jeff) and Andy (Kasey Hickman). She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Erin Bailey, Teddy and Joseph Bailey and Eli, Jonah and Lillian Rebecca Gillis, as well as seven beloved cats.

Becky was a member of the Nitro Church of Christ since 1975 and loved her spiritual family. She was a Bible school teacher and VBS volunteer. She directed the World Bible School program for 20 years and ran the clothing closet for seven years.

Becky was very proud of her children. She had two Eagle Scouts, two classical pianists and one State champion runner.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Sunday morning, April 30, at the Nitro Church of Christ, 20 Main Avenue, Nitro, WV 25143. Donations can be made to the church children's program. You may also visit AffordableCremationsofWV.com to share memories with the family.
