Briggs, Georgia L., 90, of Hill Street, New Martinsville WV, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at the New Martinsville Health Care Center. She was born August 30, 1918 in Jacksonburg, WV, the daughter of the late William Perry and Delia Carrie Flowers Haught.

She was a homemaker, and a Protestant by faith

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Briggs; two brothers, Charles Layman Haught and William Edward Haught; one sister, Virginia Gerlina Jackson; a grandson, Charles Steven Eraklianos and a great grandson, Bryson Raymond Ackles.

Survivors include three daughters, Star Banay Briggs, Phyllis Haught Croasmun both of New Martinsville and Susan Briggs Hall of Moundsville; a son, Jimmy Lee Briggs and his wife Lorna of New Martinsville; a sister, Mae Imogene Bachman of Hannibal, OH; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am with Pastor Bob Brooks officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NMHCC, Activities Fund, 225 Russell Avenue, New Martinsville, WV 26155.
