She was born July 27, 1907, in Van Wert County to Michael and Kathryn Will Hempfling, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 30, 1935, she married Albert Etzkorn, who died June 14, 1992.
Mrs. Etzkorn enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, and a past member of its Altar Rosary Society. She was a founding member of St. Rita's Mercy Club. She also sponsored two Roman Catholic priests through their education. She was a homemaker and she also worked with her husband on their farm in Landeck.
Survivors include George Wienken and Agnes Wienken, whom she raised; a special great-niece, Margie Schmersal; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hempfling; and two special great-nieces, Dorothy Wienken and Arlene Bockey.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck. Father Fleck will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A Parish Wake will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roselawn Activities Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
