Mrs. Martha Frances Brown, 72, a former Westfield resident, died Sunday at at Doylestown Manor Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Brown attended Germantown Friends School and Miss Irwins School in Philadelphia. She then moved Westfield, where she was active in the work of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Westfield Chapter of the American Red Cross. Her next move was to Stockton, where she had resided for the last 30 years.
Surviving are her husband, Harold J. Brown; two sisters, Mrs. Robert R. Matzke and Mrs. Samuel Freeman II, both of Philadelphia; three sons, Harold G. Brown Jr. of Wilmington, Del., Walter H. Brown of Madison and Charles A. Brown of St. Louis, Mo. and nine grandchildren.
The funeral was held yesterday at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Flemington. Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Elizabeth.
