The son of Wertman and Gertie (Woodard) Hendrix was born June 29, 1926, at Eula, in the Richland Valley.
He married Noveleen Wyatt on May 26, 1946. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors are his daughter, Norma Dean and her husband, Gary of St. Joe; a granddaughter, Michele Reed; two grandsons, Michael Dean and Marty Dean; a great-granddaughter, Dayna Dean; four great-grandsons, Jerry Reed and Jonathan Reed, and Ethan Dean and Evann Dean; sisters, Maudie Kiplinger and Hazel Hendrix; brothers, Troy Hendrix and Pete Hendrix; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
His favorite hobby was playing the guitar, singing, and making music with his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, with service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, both at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Leo Dye officiating.
Burial will follow in Love Cemetery in St. Joe. Pallbearers are Chris Wyatt, Richard Bowers, David Wilson, Don Jay Switzer, Michael Masterson and Harold Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers are all of his friends and Walter Arthur, Jim Teague, and Joe Reed.
