Obituary:
Jerry Dwain Hendrix ended his journey on Earth on June 10th, 2016 at the age of 68. He was born on June 1st, 1948 in Batesville Arkansas to James and Nora (Melton) Hendrix. Jerry moved to Chelan, Washington with his parents and four siblings at the age of five. He graduated from Chelan High School in 1966. He served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1977 as a Parachute Rigger, stationed at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. He served on the USS ranger for two tours during the Vietnam Conflict. After returning home from the Navy, he resided in Chelan, then later Brewster where he retired from the upholstery business after nearly thirty years.

After his retirement, he spent his time restoring Fiats, remodeling his home, and most recently helping his son build a concession trailer. His greatest joy was spending time with his Cat Sissy and showing off his dream car, his blue Corvette. He also loved spending time in his karaoke room singing, laughing and being with his family and friends. He was a life-long member of the former Southern Babtist Church in Chelan, WA and helped build the church with his father during his teenage years. During the 70's he sang with his friends Andy Voldberg and Buell Adams in a group called the Eternity Singers every Sunday and Wednesday evening.

Jerry was a selfless man who spent his entire life doing whatever he could do help others, and never saw fault in anybody he ever met. His door was always open for those in need, even if they just needed a friend to talk to.

Jerry is survived by his son who he considered his best friend, Warren Hendrix (Sheri Spear) of Brewster, WA; sisters Anita (Clarence) Williams of Tennessee, Bonnie Gay Kestner of Virginia; brother Eudell (Ruth) Hendrix of Chelan; grandsons Michael (Mari) Hendrix of East Wenatchee, Matthew (Jessica) Hendrix of Entiat, WA; grandaughter Melissa (Kyle) Holland of Arlington, WA; three great-grandchildren and ten nieces and nephews, all of who he held dear to his heart. He is also survived by countless friends, many of who he considered his extended family. Jeirry was preceded in Death by his parents, his sister Lorita Beeson and his nephew Raymond Williams.

There will be a viewing at Barnes Chapel in Brewster, WA on Friday June 17th from four to seven PM. Services will be Held at the Fraternal Cemetary on June 18th at 11 AM, with a celebration of life at the Bridgeport Eagles immediately following the service in Chelan.
