Funeral services for Earl G. Heyerdahl, 63, were held Tuesday, July 22 in Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, with interment at Eidfjord Cemetery.
Mr. Heryerdahl died at his home July 18, 1986 after a long illness.
Earl G. Heyerdahl was born March 27, 1923 in Bartley Township near Hannaford, son of the late Carl and Anna (Sad) Heyerdahl. He grew up and attended school in Hannaford and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1941. He attended Jamestown College for a short time and farmed in the Hannaford area until his entry into the U.S. Army February 27, 1945. He held the rank of Tech 5-C and served in the, Phillipines and Japan until his discharge November 28, 1946. He resumed farming and in recent years farmed with his brother, Charles and two nephew Eric and Gary until he retired in 1983.
He was a member of the Mervin Armstrong American Legion Post 113 of Hannaford, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Lutheran Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. George (Eleanor) Jordan, Fargo, Mrs. Lee (Margaret) Agnew, Bismarck, and Mrs. Alan (Dorothy) Lommen, Valley City, a brother, Charles, Hannaford, seven nephews and nine nieces.
A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
