Darnell Heywood was born April 22, 1923, in Jawbone Canyon, Calif., and had lived in Azle since 1979. He retired from General Portland Cement. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a life member of the VFW.
Survivors: Wife, Claudia Heywood of Azle; sons, Danny H. Heywood and Tommy Eugene Heywood, both of White Settlement; daughter, Edith Heywood of Denton; stepson, Boyd Archer of Haymarket, Va.; several grandchildren; two nieces; and many friends.
