INJURY PROVES FATAL TO MRS. ALSON ASHTON
Contracting tetanus Tuesday night, as a result of a compound fracture of her right leg suffered two weeks ago in a fall from the porch of her home, Mrs. Louise Ashton, 57, wife of Alson Ashton, Newfane building contractor, died at 9.25 Thursday evening in the Lockport city hospital, where she had been taken immediately after the accident.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hillman, descendants of a pioneer Wilson family, Mrs. Ashton
was born In Wilson and lived there until her marriage and removal to Newfane.
Mrs. Ashton was active in fraternal and church affairs, and was a member of Betsy Howd Bayliss tent 54, Daughters of Union Veterans; Cheer Rebekah lodge, the Newfane Methodist Episcopal church and its organisations, and t he Old Schoolmates' club.
She leaves besides her husband, three brothers, Fred, Walter and Charles Hillman of Wilson; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Swick of the Coomer Road, Newfane, and Mrs. Anna Tschabold, of Wilson.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30, in the home on West avenue, Newfane. Burial will be in Corwin cemetery, town of Newfane.
