The family resided various places. Samuel R. Adams was born in Campton, New Hampshire about 1805 and began his career as a teacher and was later ordained a Methodist Episcopal minister and educator. He went west and opened a school in Dearborn County, Indiana 1854 and later he was head of Moore's Hill College. He and Hannah had been married a short time when he died in the Civil War in 1862, serving as chaplain of the 26th Indiana Infantry. Hannah received his pension Aug 5, 1863.
Hannah retired from teaching and returned to Eastport around 1875 and died there May 13, 1900 at age 81, and 4 mos, widow of Rev. Samuel R. Adams.
Hannah died from pneumonia and heart disease and was buried Hillside, Bibber & Flagg undertakers.
