Hinckley was a bass-baritone appearing with the Metropolitan Opera from 1908-1911. Later her served as director of the Village Light Opera Group in New York which presented Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. He also appeared with the Chicago Opera Company and toured the U.S. and Europe.
