Oak Park Leaves Newspaper, Illinois

Mrs. Dean A. Baker of 205 North Franklin, River Forest, succumbed to pneumonia, the result of Spanish influenza, on Tuesday at her home. She had been a resident of the community for eleven years, and her death comes as a profound shock to a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Baker was 34 years of age. She is survived by her husband, two small sons, Dean Jr., and Robert; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hoffman of Waupaca, Wis.; a sister, Miss Emma Lea Hoffman, formerly superintendent of local Red Cross headquarters, and two brothers, both in service, Ralph and Charles Hoffman.

Private Services were held Wednesday afternoon, after which the body was taken to Waupaca, her girlhood home, for interment.

Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Milwaukee Downer College, was a member of Grace Church and took an active part in Red Cross work and other Philantropic undertakings. She was a member of Oak Park Club and socially prominent. Perhaps no more sincere tribute to her character could be paid her than the words of a close friend. "She was the most thoughtful daughter, the most loving wife, the most devoted mother, and the truest friend that God ever made." Mrs. Baker leaves no compensation for her passing but a memory that for many years shall rise up to call her blessed-C. J. R.
