RACINE - Amelia Ruth 'Amy' (nee: Hoffman) Anderson, 62, passed away at her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 23, 2011.
She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on August 18, 1948, the daughter of Ervin T. and Norma Jean (nee: Morrow) Hoffman.
She was united in marriage to Gordon Anderson on June 16, 1973.
Amy was a hairdresser for 35 years, working for various salons in Racine and later becoming the owner of her own salon 'Imagine'. She retired in 2005. Amy was an avid Nascar Fan, loved being outdoors and shopping with her daughters and grandson. She especially enjoyed gardening and being in her back yard. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Gordon; daughters, Tammy J. (Jeff Flores) Hoffman and Melissa M. (Bryan Busch) Anderson and grandson, Billy Flores. She is further survived by other relatives, friends and her beloved dog, Duke. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin Hoffman on November 30, 2005; and mother, Norma Jean Hoffman on November 24, 2002; sister, Mary Spang; and a brother, John Hoffman.
Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. There will be a time for family and friends to meet at the funeral home on Monday before services, from 10 a.m. until time of service. Private inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
