To-day at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. M. Miller, of this city, Mr. H.C. Holeman and Miss Eva C. Miller were united in marriage.

Promptly at high noon the bride and groom stood in the presence of a company of friends and relatives while D.W. Griffith, pastor of the Baptist church at uttered the solemn words that made them as husband and wife.

After congratulations all the company eagerly took part in the exercises that followed, namely, a bountiful repast.

The bride is a charming, modest young lady. She was born and raised one miles west of Island City and is highly respected and loved by all who know her.

The groom is a young man of unblemished character, industrious and honest, and lives some 4 miles northeast of town.

The bride and groom will make their home 4 miles northeast of Stanberry. May they be happy and prosperous.

Rites Sunday For Mrs. H. C. Holeman

Final rites for Mrs. Hilbert C Holeman, 88, of King City, who passed away at her home last Thursday, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist church (sic) in King City. The service was conducted by the Rev. Martin Barker.

Music was by Mrs. Paul Carlson and Mrs. Martin Barker, with Mrs. Lee Pulley as organist. Pallbearers were her grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews. They were Phyl Standlea, Doug Standlea, Darrell Holeman, Mike Holeman, Walter Loren Miller and Homer H. G Evans. Interment was in the King City cemetery (sic) under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eva C. Holeman, daughter of James and Elizabeth Miller, was born near Island City on July 12, 1882. She was 88 years, seven months, seven months and seven days old at the time of her death.

During her youth she lived in the Island City community. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ in 1892 and united with the Lafayette Baptist church (sic).

She was united in marriage on Feb. 22, 1905, to H. C. Holeman. Had she lived until Monday they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. To this union four children were born. Two sons preceded her in death, one dying in infancy and Leland, who died at the age of 6.

She was a member of the Prairie Flower Community club, Arts and Craft club and the Order of Eastern Star. For 25 years she was the Prairie Flower correspondent for the Tri-County News.

Mrs. Holeman had transferred her membership to the First Baptist church (sic) in King City and was a loyal and faithful member as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by the husband of the home; one son, Loren Holeman; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Standlea, both of King City; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John Motzkus of Wenatchee, Wash. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
