THE WRAY GAZETTE
"Lillian A Baird, daughter of James and Florence Hart Holiday, was born February 11, 1902 in Allerton, Iowa. She passed away in San Dimas, California on January 9, 1992.
Services were held January 12, 1992, in San Dimas, California with Rev. Ben Ellis-Ferris officiating. Internment was Tuesday January 14, 1992 in Grandview Cemetery at Wray, Rev. Ross Kershaw officiated.
Lillian was the fourth child in a family of six. Her early days of school were in Indianola, Nebraska, where her father was superintendent of schools. In 1910 the family moved to Deming, New Mexico, and Lillian graduated from Deming High School in 1921. She attended business school the next year.
After graduation she moved to Cambridge, Nebraska to live with her sister,Helen Junker, and worked at the Bellamy and Dolds Drug Store. In Cambridge,she met and married Baxter Baird on June 20, 1926. To their union, two children were born, Norma Jean and Richard Baxter.
In 1939 the family moved to Wray where Lillian lived for the next 43 years. She was a faithful member of the Wray United Methodist Church. She taught a church school class in Cambridge and in Wray for a few years. Lillian was a charter member of the 55 and Over Club in Wray.
In January 1982, Lillian moved to San Dimas, California where she lived until her passing. She was a faithful member of the San Dimas Methodist Church and the San Dimas Senior Citizen's Club.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter; her parents, James and Florence Holiday; her sisters, Helen Junker, Ida Patterson, Edith Smyer and her brother, Harold Holiday.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Miracle and husband, Ray, of San Dimas,California; her son, Richard Baird and wife, Jerry of Pasadena, California; and one sister, Ione Joyner of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lillian leaves five grandchildren, Cindy Spevak and husband, Walter, of Mill Valley, California; Patricia Miracle, Connie Whitfield and husband, Jon, all of Truckee, California; Mark Miracle and wife, Patricia, of LaVerne, California;and Bret Miracle of San Dimas, Calif and great grandchildren, Sam, Zachary,Emily, Abbey, Ray Raxter, Matthew, and Gregory."
