Gerald L. Holiday Sr., 71, Stoystown (Kimmelton), went to be with the Lord Sept. 26, 2015 at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md. Born April 16, 1944 in Confluence, son of Martin and Grace (Pletcher) Holiday. Preceded in death by parents, grandson Travis, and brothers: Harry and Paul. Survived by his wife of 40 years the former Judy Matkoskey; children: Gerald Jr. “Jake” and wife Sandy, Somerset; Lori married to Randy Koba; Carrie Ann Baker and Mark Kimmel, all of Stoystown; and Robert, Berlin. Grandchildren: Randy Holiday, Kayla Koba, Brandon and Chelsey Baker, and Trevor and Joey Holiday; and brothers and sisters: Robert Holiday, Ruth Hampe, and Freda Frantz. He was retired from Solar Fuel Company and Fleetwood. Member of Laurel Highlands Church of Christ, Stoystown, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, and Stoystown Legion. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Highlands Church of Christ, 221 Dunmyer Rd., Stoystown.
