Stock, Cynthia D.M. (nee Hook) Age 85 of Mpls, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2010, with her daughter, Lisa Stock and her son, Richard Stock and close family friends by her side. Cynthia was born on 11 Sep 1924 in London, England. Preceded in death by her mother, Eliza Hook (nee Black) in 1930; step-mother, Lydia Hook (nee Pain) in 1970; father, Norman W. Hook, M.B.E. in 1971, and her best friend of 49 years, Joan Baker (nee Horsey) in 1992. Cynthia proudly served the UK in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) during World War II. Cynthia married in 1949 and moved to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada in 1955 and then entered the US in 1962 where she had her two children and moved to Minnesota. After a short return to live in the UK following the death of her father, with her children she returned to Minnesota. Cynthia was always known as a very hard worker and finally retired from Hennepin County in 1992. After retiring she was able to travel and enjoy herself visiting old family and friends in the UK and around the world. Cynthia was a member of the WRAC and the TBPA. Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Lisa Stock; son, Richard Stock; and her ‘American Family' of Irv and Sue Mann, Steve and Jackie Mann (Oberg) and their three children, Nykol (Mann) and Jake Haug and their four children; her cousin, Sheila Richards (nee Hook) of Stalbridge, Dorset England; her step-sister, Pat Robson (nee Latter); niece, Jean Baker (nee Robson); nephew, Stuart Robson; neice Rosemary Robson; brother, Norman RW Hook of Scotland.
