Mrs. Brooks was born Jan. 25, 1911 in Gainesville, daughter of the late Charles Rivers and Flossie London Hope. She had worked for the U. S. Postal Service and managed businesses with her husband, the late J. C. Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks was a member of First Baptist Church of Newnan.
A graveside funeral service will be held today, April 17, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Gene Tyre officiating officating. The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home today from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral.
Surviving are a daughter, Nadine Williams and her husband Joe of Newnan; grandchildren, Jennifer Elaine Stemberger, Sarah Anne Shelnutt; sisters, Lillian Hope Hoefler of Atlanta, Ruth Hope Robertson Lane of Gainesville; and four great-grandchildren.
