Mildred Beery Wood, 97, of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Mildred was born May 25, 1918 in Zionsville, IN to the late Ernest and Emma Hornaday.

She was a graduate of Zionsville High School and Butler University. Mildred was a school teacher for the Westfield School System for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Mildred attended Eagle Creek Evangelical Friends Church and the Sheridan Wesleyan Church.

Mildred was the widow of Edwin "Huck" Beery, to whom she was married for 39 years and Fred A Wood, to whom she was married for 25 years.

Mildred is survived by her children, James D. (Julie) Beery and Mary Lou Harris; grandchildren and step grandchildren; great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and twin sister, Mary Silvers.

Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Jack Beery, Sr. and her daughter-in-law, Merry (James) Beery.
