Maxine L. Alexa of Tustin, died September 17, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 66. She was born on September 23, 1943 in Stockbridge to Cecil Vern and Ella Lavon (Ashmore) Hudkins and they preceded her in death. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1961 and had been employed as the manager of patient accounts at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor from 1962 until 1999 when she retired and moved to Tustin to enjoy the Up North life. Survivors include her husband Richard G. "Dick" Alexa of Tustin; a son, Marc Alexa of Manton; granddaughter, Murphy Reece Alexa; five sisters: Margaret (Duane) McCann of Leslie, MI, Marcia (Robert) Bunney of Manchester, MI, Marlene Lloyd of Saline, MI, Mary Jean Brady of Manchester, MI and Malinda Hudkins of Holt, MI; two nieces and two nephews; her mother-in-law, Leona Toon and brother-in-laws: Henry Thurston and Charles Thurston all of Dexter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Madelyn Hudkins. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. A memorial service will be held in Manchester at a later date.
