Luanna Evans, 85, of Batavia, Ill., formerly of Laurel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Rt. 31) in Batavia, Ill., with burial in Sunset Gardens in Laurel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. The Rev. Ken Carr will officiate. She was born July 17, 1923, in Boonville, Indiana, the daughter of Harrison Lafayette and Alma (nee Dillingham) Hull. She was united in marriage to Robert Glenn Evans on Jan. 27, 1945.She was a devout Christian and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was best known for her quick wit, and was excellent at crocheting and knitting. She loved small children, cats, and word games. Luanna was always ready to help someone in need.She is survived by her children, Joyce Anne (Tom) Kalla of Chicago, Robert (Marlene) Evans of Rochester, Minn., Joel Evans, of Sarasota, Fla., Bonnie (Jack) Zaruba of Batavia, and Thomas Evans of Bend, Oregon.; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, LaVaughn Broshears and Lunette Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; and her siblings, Paul, Lura, Edith, James and Ned Hull.Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Rt. 31) in Batavia, Ill.
