Billie Garrett-Hunter, 67, retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 30 years, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Cemetery, 500 Memorial Plaza, Burleson. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Billie was born in Hillsboro on Sept. 30, 1945, to Wiley Ray and Mattie Mae Wade Faglie. She had a tremendous love for horses. She was a fighter until the very end, hard working and loyal. She loved spending time with her seven brothers and sisters and their families as well as spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved debating politics, furniture shopping, crossword puzzles, eating at Raising Canes and doing for others. Survivors: Sons, Michael and wife, Amy Hunter, Terry and wife, Kathy Garrett; grandchildren, Jackson Hunter, Kinley Hunter and Shayne Garrett; brothers, C.W. and wife, Connie Faglie, Johnny and wife, Jan Faglie, Bobby Joe and wife, Betty Faglie, and Jacky Faglie; sisters, Sue Corona, Janie and husband, Mike Hartley, Peg and husband, Bill Stewart; and a host of nieces and nephews.
