Son of Qusay Hussein. Born Mustapha Qusay Hussein al-Tikriti, his mother was Sahar al-Rashid Hussein, the daughter of a top ranking Iraqi military official, Lieutenant General Maher al-Rashid. He reportedly had two other brothers, but since his father led a quiet and low-key life, little is actually reported on the family. When the American Army invaded Iraq in 2003, he went into hiding with his father, Qusay, and his uncle, Uday, as the Americans occupied Iraq. Finding the main Iraqi government officials became a key part of the early American occupation, and coalition forces posted a reward of $15 million dollars for information leading to Qusay's apprehension. On July 22, 2003, an unidentified Iraqi tipped off the location of the two brothers to coalition forces and Task Force 20, a Special Forces team tasked with capturing the men, surrounded the house in Mosul, and attempted to capture them. When the occupants of the house opened fire on the Task Force, a six-hour gun battle broke out, and the four occupants of the house were killed. When US forces entered the house, he was hiding under a bed near his father's body. Once the American forces entered, he began firing an assault rifle and swearing at them in English (his second language), and according to the official report, the soldiers returned fire, killing him. It was later confirmed that the four killed were Qusay, his brother Uday, an unidentified bodyguard, and Qusay's son, 14 year old Mustapha.
