MRS. H. G. (EULA JUANITA) BENNETT, 79, retired school teacher, store clerk, and deputy county treasurer, died early Saturday following a long illness.
Born Sept. 26, 1890 at St. Jo, Texas, she lived the past five years in a Duncan nursing home with her husband.
Mrs. Bennett moved to Chickasha with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hutchins, and graduated from Chickasha High School. She and H.G. Bennett married in 1907 and taught school at Blanchard for one year. They returned to the Chickasha School System in 1908.
Mrs. Bennett and her husband taught in Duncan schools for many years. He was principal at Emerson Grade School for awhile before moving up to Duncan High School as a geometry instructor.
She retired from teaching after 25 years and worked in several Duncan stores as a sales clerk. She also worked in the county treasurer's office. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, of Plato Manor; two sons, Norman and Francis Lee, both of North Hollywood, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Bannie Phlips of Fort Worth; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be in Duncan's First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Lloyd Q. Jones, Baptist missionary, officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Bearers will be Lloyd Lawrence, Charles and R.E. (Dick) McConnell, Stuart Dunlap, Bill Pitts, and Dutch Couch.
