Leona Mae Booth

MIDDLEPORT - Leona Mae Booth, 79, 551 Russell St., Middleport, died Friday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Hospital.

A homemaker, Mrs. Booth was born July 13, 1907, in Charleston, W.Va.

Surviving are two sons, Lenley Booth, Charleston, and James Booth, Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren, Steven Booth, Albany, Judy Prose, Charleston, Sherri Crump, James Booth, Jr., and Kara Armstrong, all of Lubbock; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Szuk, Columbus; a brother, Marion Hysell, Columbus; a half-brother, Oliver Shinn, Birmingham, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1967.

Mrs. Booth was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chelyan, W.Va., and a member of the Naomi Baptist Church at Quincey, W.Va.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Rawlings-Coats-Blower Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Eden officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery at Cheshire.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Monday. The family will be present from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
