Edward F. Igoe was the son of William and Catherine (Faragher) Igoe of Mayo, Ireland. Edward married Katherine Kilcoyne (1856-1895) on May 22, 1875. Eight children were born to them in Ireland between 1876 and 1893. The children were: Della, Marie, Kathryn, Patrick, Margaret, Edward, William, and John. Mother Katherine died in 1895 leaving the father with some young children to look after. The family migrated to the USA in 1899 and settled on Butler Street (number 219) in Peoria. This was a predominantly Irish neighborhood at the time. Edward F. Igoe never remarried.
