She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on March 12, 1921, daughter of the late Emmett H. and Lois Taylor Blymyer.
She graduated from Uniontown High School and received a BA in Economics from Allegheny College. Esther worked for Frick Coal Co. and Ohio Valley National Bank. She was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church in Vienna, W.Va., and First Presbyterian Church in Uniontown, Pa. She had been a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church since 1993.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Charles Milton Jackson.
There was nothing as important to Esther as her family. She is survived by her sons, Richard Jackson and wife, Connie, and Eric Jackson and wife, Nancy; daughter, Mary Lois Jackson; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tenn. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating. The Hills Are Alive Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will be providing special music.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 2001 23rd St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with the Rev. Greg Markins, pastor of Wayside United Methodist Church, officiating.
