Barbara Jean Simpson Jackson, 76, widower of Walter L. "Dub" Jackson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, after an extended illness.

Born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey A. and Lucile Campbell Simpson.

Mrs. Jackson was the retired owner and operator of Li-Chele Manufacturing and was a member of Lee Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Dale Jackson of Travelers Rest and Richard Lee Jackson of Greer; a daughter, Mary Ann J. Austell of Taylors; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two very special nieces, Judy Butler of Georgia and Lethea Parker of Easley. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Juanita Ayers; and brothers, Patrick, Dewey A. Jr., Terry Dudley and Jimmy Simpson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, P.O. Box 2467, Columbia, SC 29202.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
