Dorothy Clementine Jackson was born September 26, 1919, to Mary Ballard Luper and Ernest Cooper Jackson in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
In her years in the Charleston area, Dorothy was involved in many activities and charitable organizations, and loved nature, along with the regional architecture. A soprano and graduate of the University of Akron, School of Music, Dorothy sang for many years in the Grace Episcopal Church Choir. In her memory and interest in restoring and preserving the church she loved, please make contributions to the Saving Grace Capital Campaign, 115 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lisa L. Anderson, MD, of New York City. Dorothy's beloved husband, Gordon Martin (Scotty) Anderson, preceded her in death.
A cryptside service will be conducted May 25, 2011, at Grace Episcopal Church (98 Wentworth St.) in the Garden of Remembrance.
