Edward was married on 4/27/1916 in Gogebic, Michigan to Clara Pond. They had one son, Joseph Michael James on 1/17/1917. Edward's wife, Clara, died on 1/19/1917 after giving birth to their son. Edward James died on 2/23/1917 when his son was 1 month old.
