Mrs. D. H. Bush

Died, June 15th, at her residence in Hampden, Mrs. D. H. Bush, aged 77 years 11 months and 6 days.

Celia L. James was born in the town of Ripley, Chatauqua County, New York, July 7, 1837. In her early age her family removed to Erie Co. Penn. She was married to Darius H. Bush on Sept. 7th 1854 and in December of that year came to Wisconsin, where she had resided, with the exception of ten years from 1870 to 1880, where she resided in Bremer Co, Iowa.

Mrs. Bush was the mother of four children one, Arthur died in youth and these who are left to mourn, W. R. Bush Hampden, W. S. Bush, Columbus and Mrs. E O'Brion, Hampden, also thirteen grand children and several great grand children, who will ever gratefully remember the kind attentions of her many friends during her long illness, both while at St. Mary's Hospital and later at home. She will be greatly missed in the family circle having made her home a gathering place for all members of her family. She was very fond of young people and it is sure no one can fill her place in the regard of her grand children.

Services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon, June 17th. Burial was in the Hampden cemetery.

Mrs. D. H. Bush

Mrs. D. H. Bush died at her home in the town of Hampden on Tuesday, June 15th of cancer of the stomach. Deceased had been a sufferer for some years and on Feb. 24th last underwent an operation at St. Mary’s hospital in this city, remaining at the hospital more than two months before she was able to be taken to her home, where she lingered two months before death came to her relief.
Celia L. James was born in Niagara County, N.Y. , July 7, 1837. Married to D. H. Bush in Pennsylvania on Sept. 27, 1855, came to Wisconsin in 1858 locating in the town of Hampden, which has been her home ever since, with the exception of eleven years which she and Mr. Bush spent at Waverly, Iowa.
Since the death of her husbahnd she has resided on the old home farm with her daughter, Mrs. Emmett O’Brion, and husband who have managed the farm.
Besides Mrs. O’Brion she is survived by two sons, Winn of this city and Will of the town of Hampden. Mrs. Bush was the sister of Nelson James, one of the pioneer farmers of Hampden, and H. D. James formerly editor of this newspaper.
Her funeral was held on Thursday last, from the home, internment being in the Hampden cemetery.
