Passed away in an auto accident in Morgan Hill, CA, on December 6, 2005, age 34. A native of Sonora, Mexico, Mr. Jara has been a resident of Watsonville since he was a young boy.
He graduated from Watsonville High School and attended Heald's Business College. He has worked in the restaurant business since he was a teenager. He worked his way up to be a chef, and was one in many Santa Cruz and Santa Clara County restaurants, including, Severino's, The Apple Café, Lorene's, Glory's Day in Morgan Hill and Happy Dog Pizza in Gilroy.
He is survived by his significant other, Lalani Ponce of Morgan Hill; three sons, Alex, Jr. of San Juan Bautista, Brandon of Watsonville, and Diego Gary of Morgan Hill; two brothers, Jorge of Mexicali and Jose Manuel of Watsonville; five sisters, Sylvia of Somerton, AZ, Martha of San Luis, MX, Suki of Hanford, Susan of Watsonville, and Arlene of Las Vegas, his mother, Antonia Jara of Watsonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Assumption, Watsonville. Burial followed at Valley Cemetery, Watsonville. Services provided by: Mehl's Colonial Chapel.
