Forrest was born in Sedgwick ,Colorado to John Henry Jensen and Musa Polley Jensen.

He completed his first year of high school, then dropped out. The family moved first to Yakima, Washington, then to Seattle where they lived on the location where Seattle University now stands.

He married Margaret Brotherson. He was a Sixth Sea Bea ("Construction Battalion") in WWII and served as a wharf superintendent in the Solomon Islands. He got an honorable discharge and returned home. He was divorced and then met Adella Schmittler, whom he married. They had one daughter and he was stepfather to Adella's small son.

Frosty was a logger all his life for various companies including his own Forest Products and Westfall Schneebeck.
