The Goldendale Sentinel, June 25, 1970:

Gladys E. Beeks, who was born in Colby, KS, July 11, 1903, passed away in Central Convalescent Home, Yakima, on June 19, 1970 after an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 23, at Knosher Funeral Home, and interment followed in the IOOF cemetery. Roger White officiated. When a young girl, she moved with her parents to Goldendale where she lived the remainder of her life except for a short period of time when she lived in Pullman and Stevenson.

She married Clifford Beeks on June 4, 1927 and to this union were born two sons, Lonell of Yakima and Ronald of Parshall, ND.

She was an active member of the Church of Christ, secretary of the Organic Garden Club and a member of the Klickitat Valley Pioneer Association. She retired from a long teaching career in 1969, the last several years of which were spent in the Goldendale Elementary School.

In addition to her two sons she is survived by six grandchildren: Danny, Terry, Cindy and Heidi Beeks of Parshall, ND and Kenneth and Kathy Beeks of Yakima. She also leaves one brother, Malcolm Jensen of Auburn.

Pallbearers were Frank Clements, Thurman Ward, Walt Hamilton, Cyrus Forry, Mark Ruland and Henry Culver.
